(1) ONLINE COMMUNICATIONS
The
Philharmonic Society of Selangor communicates with its members
through:
-
this website;
-
our
blog at
selangorphil.blogspot.com;
-
an e-group set up in YahooGroups
(the e-mail address on your membership application/renewal form, will
be entered into the said e-group)
It’s essential that you provide us with your e-mail
address and check your e-mail regularly, be it from home, work, school, or a cybercafe.
Please let us know immediately if you have any problems accessing the e-group
or receiving e-mails
from the e-group.
IT IS IMPORTANT THAT YOU
INFORM YOUR SECTION REPRESENTATIVE, OR ANY OF THE COMMITTEE MEMBERS, OF
ANY CHANGES IN YOUR E-MAIL ADDRESS.

THE PHIL NEWS ONLINE
All members will receive
the
Society's newsletter,
The Phil News,
through their email. A copy of the newsletter will also
be posted on this website. [Less trees are killed
this way, and you can access it from anywhere in the world!]

E-GROUP NETIQUETTE
The e-group is are for communications
between members of the Phil - so do make good use of it! :-) However,
do be reminded of a few rules to be observed. Remember, you will be
addressing a very large group of people every time you post a
message!
- Please do not forward chain letters, virus warnings, etc. to the
e-group.
- While occasional spurts of jokes and inspirational thoughts are
certainly welcome, do try wherever possible to stay on topics which
are relevant to the members of the e-group.
- Where appropriate, do consider the option of communicating with
members directly, by sending messages directly to them, and not to
the entire e-group. This situation may arise, for example, if you
wish to pursue a topic that is no longer of interest to everyone,
or that should be discussed in private.
- When replying to a posted message, please delete the old message.
If you need parts of the old message in your reply, then keep those,
but delete the rest.
- If you are forwarding a message, please delete the old message headers
(especially if they are very long!). You may also wish to delete references
to the original sender's e-mail address, if you feel that the original
sender may not want his e-mail address to be broadcast to numerous recipients, who may, in turn, inadvertently broadcast the same to
further recipients!
- Be courteous. Please refrain from making personal remarks on the
e-group.
- Remember, attachments in e-mails will be filtered
out by the system. If you send an e-mail with an attachment, the e-group members
will receive your e-mail, but without the attachment. You may however
make use of the file-sharing and photo-sharing facilities on the e-group.
