The vision of the Philharmonic Society of Selangor is to provide accessible opportunities for learning, producing and presenting high quality performances in the performing arts through fellowship, fun activities and education.

You will be joining an established Society that has been actively promoting the performing arts and thrilling audiences around the country since 1958. If you choose to participate in a production, you will enjoy the experience of rehearsing for public performances, and most of all, you will enjoy the friendship and camaraderie of people from all walks of life, all with a common interest in the performing arts.

One of the best things about The Phil is the wide variety of musical works the Society has the opportunity to perform. Our repertoire ranges from major classical works, contemporary works, hymns, spirituals and folk songs, to Broadway numbers, jazz, rock and roll, swing, pop, and more! There is always something for everyone!

The Choir of the Philharmonic Society of Selangor normally rehearses on Mondays from 8.00 pm to 10.00 pm. Additional rehearsals are normally scheduled in the weeks leading up to a concert. After rehearsals, members like to head down to the nearby ‘mamak’ stall or other food outlets for drinks and maybe late dinner / supper (in true Malaysian style - anytime's a good time to grab a bite!).
We welcome guests who wish to drop by to observe our rehearsals. Please drop us a line beforehand at selangor.phil@gmail.com if you would like to come over to observe any of our rehearsals.
